In the screen printing process, printing pressure is an important parameter that determines the printing effect. Especially on thick film screen printing machines, printing pressure has a decisive impact on printing quality. The precise control of printing pressure will seriously affect the performance and production capacity of printed products.

The Importance of Printing Pressure

In thick film screen printing, printing pressure directly affects the accuracy of printing graphics, film thickness uniformity, and conductivity. If the printing pressure is too high, it may cause the following problems:

① Reduced service life of scraper strips and screen printing: Excessive printing pressure can cause the strips to bend and the screen to be damaged if printed for a long time.

② Paste plate: When the printing pressure is too high, the film strip bends, and the adhesive strip, screen plate, and substrate come into nonlinear contact, but rather face to face contact, resulting in the inability to scrape the slurry clean every time the printing is scraped, and the residual slurry forms a film after a period of time, resulting in paste plate.

③ The deformation and ghosting of printed graphics can lead to unstable, low resistance, and unstable voltage of the printed product.

④ Uneven and thin film thickness: Excessive printing pressure can cause excessive extrusion of the slurry during the printing process, resulting in uneven distribution of the slurry and thin film thickness, leading to issues such as leakage and unstable performance of the printed product.

On the contrary, if the printing pressure is too low, it may cause the following problems:

① Broken lines in printed graphics: The printed product cannot conduct electricity or achieve insulation protection effect.

② Lack of printing: The slurry cannot fully adhere to the substrate, which affects the quality of printing.

③ Film thickness too thick: If the printing pressure is too low, it will lead to an increase in the amount of slurry passing through the mesh, causing the film thickness to be too thick and unable to accurately control the film thickness.

Suspension printing system:

The printing system has a large self weight, so if the self weight cannot be eliminated, there are few adjustable printing pressure threshold ranges during printing. Ordinary screen printing machines cannot eliminate the self weight of the printing system, and usually can only change the pressure of the scraper by adjusting the up and down strokes. Moreover, it is difficult to ensure uniform continuous printing film thickness and low production flexibility.
